Mangalore, Jun 1: In response to the National Council Development’s recent decision to refuse grant of farmers’ loan to the state at an interest of 4 per cent from nationalised banks, deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa has said that a delegation will be sent to meet the Prime Minister to urge reversal of the order.

Addressing a press meet here on Thursday May 31, Yediyurappa said that BJP and JD (S) will do all they can to resist the ‘anti-farmer’ policy of the UPA government.

He further said that the state government will provide compensation for sugarcane growers and a decision in this regard will be taken at the cabinet committee meeting to be held on Friday June 1.

He also demanded an apology from Congress for terming BJP as ‘communal’ and said that Congress should first provide valid proofs for the ‘baseless’ statement.
