Mangaluru: Wenlock District Hospital holds Kayakalp sensitization workshop

Mangaluru, Aug 8: Further to the implementation of Kayakalp project in 20 district hospitals in the state, a district level Kayakalp nomination committee is formed in the district.



A four hour long awareness cum internal assessor workshop under the project was held at the Wenlock Hospital RAPCC hall on Saturday August 8 at 9.30 am.

The district surgeon and superintendent at the District Wenlock Hospital had requested the hospital doctors, nurses, managers, district programme officials, district quality assurance committee president and members, NGO representatives and representatives participating in the progress by means of a circular to take part in the workshop.

The workshop started with registration between 9.30 am and 10 am followed by the welcome address by the district medical officer. Dr Hemalatha B C gave the keynote address at 10.15 am. There was tea break from 10.45 am to 11 am.

Dr Ramachandra Bairy JPD, RCH gave an overview of Kayakalp – A clean hospital initiative, assessment protocol and action planning. Dr Nithin Joseph, associate professor, department of community medicine,
KMC spoke on the assessment of thematic areas A, B, C. Dr Srikala Baliga, head of the department of micro biology, KMC gave a lecture on assessment of thematic areas D, E, F.

Dr Hemalatha B C held group work on finalization of road map. The valedictory function was held at 1.30 pm followed by lunch at 1.40 pm.
