New Delhi, Aug 14: Rahul Gandhi seems to have become Twitterati's favourite punching bag. Already mocked with the tag of 'Pappu' and 'Amul Baby', Rahul is now the butt of jokes for carrying a 'cheat sheet' to the Parliament, summarising points that he made in his address to the Parliament on Wednesday.
The photo of the paper in Rahul's hands, captured by a reporter of 'The Telegraph', has gone viral in the social media. The points were Hindi, but written in English, which again made for a topic of hot debate on the social media, with many questioning Rahul's knowledge of Hindi, and some even going on to ask if the points were indeed Rahul's own or prepared for him from someone else.
The first line on the sheet reads: "'Log PM Modi ko sunna chhate hain - Woh unki rai janna chhate hain,' followed by 'Modigate par and Vyapam par'. What caught everyone's attention more was the points he made about the three monkeys - '3 monkeys of Gandhiji', followed by what the monkeys denote, in bold red ink. Rahul during his speech had taken a dig at Prime Minister Modi saying, "Gandhiji ke teen bandar kehte hain — Bura mat dekho, bura mat suno, bura mat bolo. Modi ji ke 3 naye bandar hai, unka kehna hai- Sach mat dekho, sach mat suno, sach mat bolo."
It is rather unfortunate for Rahul, as just as he seemed to assert his presence in the Parliament as a frontline leader of the Congress, a piece of paper has undone him and once again questioned his ability to lead without guidance and speak on issues impromptu. As someone on Twitter pointed out, it would have been far more understandable if the sheet of paper contained hard facts on issues and reforms, but making points such as 'people want to hear Modi' just did not go down well with the mean world of social media.
