NSS Activities for 2007: M P Kunju DGM Corporation Bank will inaugurate the National Service Scheme (NSS) activities for the academic year 2007-08 in SDM College of business management premises. The function will begin today at 3 pm.
National Institute of Personnel Management: A special lecture on “Changing mindset” will be delivered today. This is being organized by The National Institute of Personnel Management in Mangalore. As per press release MCF DGM (HR and Administration) P Jayashankar Rai will be the resource person. The function will be presided over by NIPM Mangalore Chapter Chairman P A Jose, at the St. Aloysius College Auditorium, Mangalore at 6.15 pm.
Seminar on service tax: A Seminar/Open house meeting on levy of service tax on the five new services introduced on June 1 viz. a) renting, leasing of immovable property service b) Work contract service c) Development and supply of content service d) Designing service and e) mining service.
This is being organized by the commissioner of central excise in Mangalore at the office of the commissioner of central excise at the Trade Centre in Mangalore, at 4.30 pm on July, 30.
Ramakrishna Swamiji to visit city: VP of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission swami Smarananda is visiting the city from Aug 17 to 25 as per press release issued. He will be initiating those devotees interested in joining the mission during his stay. He will also deliver a lecture in English at the Swami Vivekananda auditorium in the ashram premises at 5 pm on Aug. 19. Devotees can visit him for ‘darshan’ from 5 pm.
Temple Committee: The hindu religious endowment dept has invited applications for the nine-member managing committee of Maravoor Shri Mahadeva and Durgaparameshwari temple for a term of three years. The committee will comprise of a main priest, a person belonging to ST/SC and two women. 25 years will be minimum age limit for membership. As per their release applications for the same should reach the endowment office latest by July 31.
Yuvajana Sammelan: A taluka level Yuvajana Sammelan will be held on July 22 at the Lakshminarayana Kripa Hall at Katipalla. The sammelan is being organized by the Youth service and sports dept, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, D K District Yuvajana Okkota and Katipalla Youth Club.
