Mumbai, Feb 8: Sahithya Balaga in the city, Billavara Association and department of Kannada at Mumbai University jointly held a programme on Bannanje's philosophy as part of a felicitation programme to Dr Bannanje Govindacharya on Umesh B Sanil stage, Narayana Guru auditorium, Santacruz east on Sunday February 7 morning.

Kavitha Udupa read the poems of Bannanje. Sahithya Balaga Mumbai vice president advocate Amitha Bhagavath spoke on the translation of Banabatta novel and Dr Mallepuram Venkatesh gave details of
independent works of Bannanje. Dr Veena Bannanje conducted Bannanje's philosophy programme.

She said that comparison creates isolation. “Mobile is a cosmic arrangement. Mobile is a systematic arrangement of work,” she said.

“Life will be meaningful only when we forget the past. We should identify ourselves with others ignoring religion, caste and creed. It is deplorable that discrimination based on sex, religion and looks have dominated our lives and troubled humanity. They take away the peace and bring about a life of problems. Therefore let our lives consist of understanding the world,” she said.

Dr Bannanje Govindacharya, Sahithya Balaga Mumbai president H B L Rao, vice president N R Rao, secretary S K Sunder, Billavara Assocation president Nithyananda D Kotian, honorary chief secretary Dharmapal G Anchan, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Dr Vyasaraya Ninjooru, Sudheer R L Shetty, Dr Sunitha M Shetty, P V Aithal and others were present. G T Acharya welcomed the gathering, compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
