Gogoi order probe as games tickets sold but stands empty

Guwahati, Feb 13 (IANS): Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday asked Chief Secretary V.K. Pipersenia to probe why there are empty stands at some of the venues of the ongoing South Asian Games despite tickets being sold out online.

Ordering the probe, Gogoi said that there is something wrong as stands are going empty with tickets been sold out online.

"Strangely enough that while fans are having a hard time getting tickets for the events, the stands are found empty. There was something wrong somewhere. I have asked the chief secretary to probe into it and to submit a report to me immediately," he said.
