Stuttgart's Ginczek suffers ligamen injury

Stuttgart (Germany), Feb 15 (IANS): Striker Daniel Ginczek has ruptured his left knee cruciate ligaments, German football club Stuttgart announced in an official statement.

The 24-year-old striker just returned to the training after a surgery owing to a spinal disc herniation. His comeback was scheduled for March but the cruciate rupture, which he suffered in training on Sunday, will keep him sidelined for several more months, reports Xinhua.

"The message of Daniel's injury is a setback for all of us but especially for him. Daniel has proven in the past that he is a fighter. We will support him wherever we can and give him all the time he needs," Stuttgart's sporting director Robin Dutt said on Sunday.

Ginczek joined the "VfB" from second division outfit Nuremberg in the summer 2014 to score 10 goals in 25 appearances ever since.

"It is unbelievable bad luck for Daniel and intangible for all of us. The whole team wishes him a speedy recovery," Stuttgart's coach Juergen Kramny said on Sunday.

Stuttgart sit on the 10th place of the standings. They meet fifth placed Schalke at the 22nd round of Bundesliga on Sunday.
