Mumbai, Feb 17: “The love and goodwill of Tulu language even among children shows that Tulu language has a bright future”, said Odiyooru Gurudevananda Swamiji. He was speaking after inaugurating and blessing the Children’s Tulu literary conference held in Nadoja Kinnanna Rai auditorium.

“Tulu is a language of the hearts and it also has dignity as a language used in business. The future generation should also have knowledge of the language in order to preserve it. The Children’s Tulu literary conference is held for this. We have internet to see the world but we should germinate our heart’s inner net in order to see the Almighty. We need a clean heart for the purpose”, he said.

“Conferences such as these are necessary to create awareness to preserve and grow Tulu language. It is necessary to conduct a more detailed study regarding the Netravathi river diverting project, he
said.

Conference president Udupi’s Vijetha M Shetty also spoke on the occasion. Chief Guest Navyashree speaking on the occasion said we should make sure that Tulu language is not deserted but make it
celebrate along with other languages. Chief convener Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla gave the keynote address.

Sadhwi Sri Matanadamayi, Odiuyooru Tulukoota president Malaru Jayarama Rai, businessman Vamayya Shetty Mumbai, Mumbai Borivli Tulu Sangha president Prakash Shetty Petemane, Mangaluru Gurudeva Seva Balaga president Jayanth Kotian were present on the dais. Convener Taranatha Kothari welcomed the gathering. Teacher Jayaprakash Shetty proposed the vote of thanks. Latha M Melanta conducted the programme.
