Mangalore: Autonomous Status to St Aloysius College Hailed

Mangalore, Sep 22: The change in attitude is essential for one to succeed in life.  Anyone who does not change with the time remains backward.  Therefore, the need of the hour is the change of mindset, said M Veerappa Moily, chairman of National Administrative Reforms Commission. 

He was speaking at the inaugural of the autonomous status conferred on St Aloysius College held at SAC Industrial Technical Institute Auditorium here on Friday September 21.
 
India has emerged as land of opportunities owing to globalization which emphasizes on creativity and innovation. Many efforts have been made to move away from the globalization in the past.

There lies a shadow between idea and reality while one need not fear the shadow; rather combat with confidence and positive outlook. The persistent desire to improve serves the mantra of success, besides striving hard to transform absurd dreams into excellent results, he added. 

Moily advised the teachers not to view the background of students instead concentrate on bringing out the best out of the students.

St Aloysius College which deserves the autonomous status in all respects. The conferring of the status to the college is worthy as it has been educating the students without compromising on quality, said B Nagaraj Shetty, district-in-charge minister.

Moreover he urged the students to develop competency in order to face the challenges of globalization. 

Fr Francis Serao, rector of St Aloysius Educational Institution presided over the programme. Prof Narahari, head of department of commerce, Fr Denzil Lobo, director, Fr Dr Vijay Kumar Prabhu, provincial of Karnataka Jesuit Province were present on the occasion.

Fr Swebert D'Silva, principal of St Aloysius College welcomed the gathering and Nivedita Dias, lecturer of St Aloysius College compeered the programme.
