Bengaluru, Mar 8: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the State Government’s ambitious "Santwana - Harish Scheme" to provide immediate and instant medical treatment as well as relief to victims of road accidents during the "Golden Hour."

The "Santwana" scheme was renamed "Santwana - Harish" scheme in honour of 23-year-old Harish Nanjappa who, in a heroic gesture, donated his eyes moments before he died in a horrific accident at Nelamangala last month.

Under the scheme launched by the Chief Minister in Bengaluru on Tuesday, financial aid up to Rs 25,000 would be provided by the State Government towards medical treatment during the first 48 hours.

The Santwana scheme provides immediate access to trauma care services to victims.

The scheme would cover the entire State irrespective of the victim’s nationality and the accident victim would receive medical treatment irrespective of his or her ability to pay.

The State Government assures a payment of up to Rs 25,000 per victim per episode.

The Chief Minister said a set of 25 treatment and ancillary packages have been developed from a minimum of Rs 1,000 to a maximum of Rs 25,000, inclusive of all the details, so as to give instant medical relief within the "Golden Hour.”

"The intention of the scheme is to save life and further refer for appropriate management," he said.

Services of "Ambulance 108” equipped with medical assistants, first aid kit, oxygen, drugs etc., will be made available for "on the spot” relief to the accident victim/victims and take them to the nearest recognised hospital for treatment.

The services of 104 and 108 helpline would be made available to get guidance regarding the appropriate recognised hospital.

The hospital shall get mapped on the GPS platform, Siddaramaiah explained.

Under the Scheme, the State Government has roped in Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust, a registered body under the Health and Family Welfare Department, to implement the scheme.

Excellent scheme. Well done CM & Health Minister Khader. God Bless. Hope the hospitals do not delay treatment waiting for the Government to cough up the money first. Such schemes which help the poor and the rich in their time of need should be brought out by the Government instead of one sided reservation for political gains.

Now Modiji will blatantly copy this scheme with a saffron name and say its NDA's pet scheme! And then will say that he was inspired by Smriti Irani who ran away from helping a accident victim!

Whatever the schemes implemented by the government are meant only for BPL card holders and people belonging to minority community. The representatives/MLA/MPs need the vote from all the community people regardless of their religion, caste, language, colour and creed but schemes are meant only for the people of minority communities once they win the election and assume the power.
What is the strategy, logic of government policies?.Are the people from Majority communities not the citizen of this state of country? Why so much of disparity in the allocation, reservation? If such is the policy of the government, why they have to go to the people from the majority community and beg for their votes?.
Let them go to the people from minority community and seek their votes. Take a simple example of ration card allocation-how many irregularities, loopholes and lapses we can observe. The people with all the facilities and capable of meeting all their day -today needs with adequate resources have been given BPL ration cards because of their political link and the people who really need of BPL without source of income or facilities have been given APL cards? Why?.
Forget about getting APL or BPL cards, how many times people have to visit Panchayat, then to taluk office and what else even to get the ration card of any category whether it is APL or BPL.Such is the pathetic system in our state. Pillars to post wandering. It is really a nightmare to the poor people. Is anybody taking any interest to address or streamline the issue?.
No, because concerned representatives are busy attending the functions, cutting the ribbon and being felicitated. Nobody there to take care of poor people's grievances. Rest are all history and merely on the papers. Medias which are all being paid are highlighting the fake news just to fool the public and divert the attention from the major burning issues.Jai Hind,Jai Bharat,Jai Karnataka.Schemes are all for BPL card holders and minority people

btw, are you happy with Afzal celebration or bharat ki tukde slogans at JNU? or you still want to believe that nothing of that sort happened?
