Mangalore, Oct 8:
"The words and actions of H D Kumaraswamy are totally contradictory. The concern he shows towards the minorities is not genuine in fact," alleged Anwar Manippadi, former chairman, State Minority Commission, at a press conference here on Monday October 8.

"Irregularities were common during the tenure of the coalition government. Kumaraswamy and the bureaucracy that supported him are solely responsible for this," he contended.

Demanding a probe into the irregularities that had taken place in the borewell scam, Manippady added that in total 22,700 borewells had been sanctioned, but they had not come into reality as yet. But the money sanctioned by the government has been "best used,"  he said cryptically.

The parties that ruled the state so far had kept the minorities in absolute darkness, he claimed. It is the BJP that came forward to help the minorities, he added.

Explaining allegations, Anwar said he had come to know that the document sent to NMDC and accounts maintained by state government did  not match. The state government updates accounts that have to be sent to NMDC. But NMDC says it has not received any accounts. The variance is shocking. The accounts maintained by the state government are not only irregular but also manipulated, he alleged.

He also received threatening calls from the persons, claiming to be Tippu and Ahmad. They abused him for being “anti-Muslim” by supporting the BJP that has been traditionally branded “Not-Pro-Muslim”. Later he learned that Tippu was the ‘wagging tail’ of the leader of Haj committee,’ he added.

Sameer Bengre and others were present at the press conference.
