Mangaluru, May 14 : After the Supreme Court order, NEET is the country’s sole medical entrance examination, through which all medical colleges, run by the central and state governments, as well as private institutions and minority institutions, will admit students. As per the court’s order, the CBSE pre-medical test that was given on May 1 will be treated as the first phase of the NEET, with the second phase scheduled for July 24. Aspirants who did not take the May 1 examination too can sit for it. This two-phase system is only for this year; next year onward, there will be only one examination. Well, Let us welcome this verdict of Supreme Court on NEET. Now that every student has been given with an opportunity to perform according to his/ her merit, those who will wisely study for NEET exam will surely excel with flying colors.

The purpose/merits of NEET are as follows:

a) To reduce the mental and financial burden on medical aspirants who have to appear in a number of entrance examinations across the country.

b) To prevent any form of malpractice such as donations, profiteering and capitation fees.

c) To place the emphasis on merit as the only criteria for admission.

Before that, its time to know the important facts regarding judgement of Supreme court and your Exams.

Note: NEET exam is mandatory to get admissions for Medical and Dental undergraduate courses for 2016. The Phase 1 of NEET exam was conducted May 1.

1. NEET phase 2 is open for all medical aspirants even though someone has already appeared in NEET Phase 1. This means, another chance to prove your caliber and deliver the best.The NEET Phase 2 will be scheduled on July 24th, 2016.

2. It is not mandatory for the aspirants to take part in NEET phase 2. If someone thinks that he/she has performed well in phase 1, he/she can skip the exam of phase two and their marks of Phase 1 will be considered for ranking. There will be only 1 ranking, irrespective of which NEET exam you write.

3. If you want to appear in NEET phase 2, then your candidature of phase 1 will be cancelled and u can't claim the performance of phase one, in case your score in Phase 1 is more than Phase 2.

4. Any one, either who was applicant of AIPMT, or not can participate in NEET phase two.

5. No state can take exam for MBBS and BDS but the 85% quota of state seats will be filled with NEET state ranking. Those who appear for NEET II will have to furnish domicile details, and separate all-India and state merit lists will be prepared to ensure that during counselling, state governments are able to fill seats in their medical colleges as per the existing reservation and other criteria.

6. No private college can take entrance exam for MBBS and BDS ,their seats will be filled through NEET ranking.

7. You need to fill fresh form for NEET phase two.

8. Reservation policy will not be affected and will remain same like before.

9. Every state can apply their own reservation policy.

10.Now that you have good opportunity to get the reward of your merit, work harder. Go ahead to achieve your Goal. Continue your preparation for upcoming exams AIIMS and NEET Phase two. Combined result of both the Tests shall be declared on 17th August, 2016.

To prepare for NEET Phase 2 exams, here are some tips

1. Go through the NEET Phase 1 and past year’s question paper and try solving in stipulated time period.
2. Maintain short cut formula book for quick revision.
3. Revise concepts instead of topics
4. Figure out the marks distribution in every topic and prepare your concepts likewise.
5. Study in an application based way.

NEET is a good step towards bringing uniformity for medical admissions across India. However, it is not easy for students appearing for state CET to adapt their preparations for NEET 2016. Students have to deal with syllabus differences & examination pattern changes.
