Mumbai, Mar 18: Ahead of its global release, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has received an extraordinary endorsement from veteran filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who described the film as a “Sholay x 100 level magnificence”.

Varma shared his reaction after attending a special screening on March 17, praising the Aditya Dhar directorial for its scale and impact. He claimed that the film could make classics like Mughal-e-Azam appear like “TV serials”.

In a post on X, Varma said the film’s expected box office performance, audience response, cinematic innovation and overall psychological impact mark the beginning of a “new cinematic order”.

He further added that the film could redefine filmmaking standards and even suggested that global directors like Steven Spielberg and Christopher Nolan should watch it “first day first show”.

The espionage thriller features Ranveer Singh in a fierce new avatar alongside Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun, among others.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is scheduled for release on March 19, with preview shows beginning March 18.
