Bangalore: Stalwarts Enthrall Buffs at Musical Gala in City

Bangalore, Oct 29:  A colourful and gala musical cum cultural programme entitled ‘Visions of India’ was held here, on the night of Saturday October 27 with artistes from all over the country performing in it. Prominent among the artistes was Balamurali Krishna who sang the Bhajan Vaatapi Ganapathim Bhaje, while on the other hand well-known singer Pankaj Udhas rendered the soul-stirring Hindi ghazal “Chitti Aayi Re Chitti Aayi Re”evoking nostalgia for the viewers.

The said cultural event was organized by the Sanjivini CTC Emergency Ambulance and Hospital Pre-Services, at the Bangalore Palace Grounds. The occasion was graced by the Maharashtra governor S M Krishna and Prema Krishna. The programme was inaugurated by   Balagangadharanatha Swamiji of the Adichunchanagiri Math.

The entire programme show-cased diverse genres of music from across the country right from the mystical Bauls of Bengal, to the Sufi singers of Punjab, to the legends of Hindusthani, Carnatic, Ghazal, Bollywood music including the latest fusion music all  performed on a single platform. The very essence and entire spectrum of Indian music was beautifully captured at the 'Visions of India’ function. Moreover a tribute to the nation produced by renowned violinist Dr L Subramanim, was also performed on enthralling Saturday night.    

This musical event was organized with the aim to raise funds for ‘Comprehensive Trauma Consortium’, an NGO specializing in pre-hospital care – CTC - Sanjeevini by providing ambulance services. The programme was conceived, written and composed by Dr L Subramaniam. On the occasion all the artists were felicitated by the Maharashtra governor S M Krishna and Prema Krishna and Balagangadharanatha Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri.
