Bantwal: 'Govt should Vision for atleast 50 Years Ahead'

Bantwal, Nov 1: The government should have a vision for at least 50 years ahead while forming developmental plans, said Dr K Chinnappa Gowda, head of department of Kannada at Mangalore University.

Speaking at the Kannada Rajyotsava programme organized by taluk administration here, he said that even after 50 years of statehood of Karnataka, state boundaries have not been effectively recognized. Owing to the lack of will of politicians, the boundary row of Kasargod and Belgaum, have not been solved yet, he asserted.

Bantwal tahsildar C N Manjunath hoisted the flag during the Rajyotsav celebrations. At the same time, Ekalavya awadree Mamata Rao was felicitated by the taluk administration. The rally of school units of NCC, Scouts and Guides was held from Polali arch to taluk panchayat office.

Vittal MLA Padmanabha Kottari, taluk panchayat president Chandrahas Shetty Bolantur, executive officer Jayasheela Reddy, Sheena Shetty and Krishna Moolya of Jana Shikshana Trust, taluk women empowerment federation president Pushpalatha Shetty and others were present on this occasion.

K Sudhakar welcomed the gathering. Shyamala C K proposed vote of thanks. Ramachandra Rao compered the programme.
