Mangaluru, Jun 8: The first additional district and sessions court here, through an order passed on TuesdayJune 7, sentenced a person accused of involvement with the murder of a man about four years back, to four years of rigorous imprisonment. The man has also been imposed with fine of Rs 30,000.

Ganesh (34), resident of Rajeev Nagar Ashraya Colony in Shaktinagar here, was found guilty and sentenced in the above case. He was charged with murdering Narasimha (58) living in his neighbourhood. At the same time, the court exonerated Ganesh's mother, Shantamma, of involvement with this murder.

It is gathered that Narasimha took out his dog for a walk through the area every night. Ganesh and Shantamma frequently quarrelled with Narasimha, accusing him of allowing his dog to defecate and urinate in front of their house every day. On January 18, 2012, Narasimha's wife, Meenakshi, had taken the dog for a walk. Then too there was a fight between Ganesh and Shanthamma and Meenakshi. When Narasimha came to the spot in connection with this fight, Ganesh reportedly struck his head with an iron rod, killing him in the bargain.

The court has found that the murder charge levelled against Ganesh has been proved.
