Dr P S Aithal, principal, Srinivvas Institute of Management Studies welcomed the gathering.

Praveen Raj Udupa, assistant general manager, NABARD, giving his keynote inaugural address stated that SHG’s are currently facing severe challenges. All such groups must realize that procuring financial aid is not the main challenge rather it’s marketing that decides the future of all SHGs.

“Today no bank unlike before hesitates to lend money to SHGs, hence a SHG facing financial difficulty is a rare phenomenon. The main thing is that all SHG’s need to give more heed to marketing strategies”, he advised.

A. Raghavendra Rao, president of the city based Shama Rao foundation presided over the function. Uday Kumar Holla, lead district manager was the chief guest.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Purushotham P K, planning officer, Shri Darmasthala Rural development scheme, Ravindra, CPDO and others.
