The Locals have started realizing the gravity of the issue and they can no longer take the matter lying down. Act is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruit. All have to put their minds and hearts together with a view to arrive at a mutually beneficial solution so as to ensure better future for our younger generation. We all have a right to reap the benefit of development process that is taking place in our region.

Local administration (Panchayat) has a social responsibility towards the community welfare of the people in the region and hence, high handed approach by the Land Acquisition squad is an indication that they are not following rules of the game to achieve their set goals.

KIADB are also one of the stake holders in the proposed Mangalore SEZ Limited and their role in depriving benefits of local people was the bone of contention which led the peace loving local people to protest against the Land Acquisition authorities. Any development programme in the region should bring in prosperity to the local people. We are talking about 9.2% growth but it is time for all of us to look at how other India survives. If we lose our houses & surrounding property, we will have to start all over again elsewhere which will be an uphill task and this type of approach will only widen the gap between shining and sighing India. We all need to escape from the clutches of land acquisition with a view to do justice to our younger generation.
