Euro 2016: Portugal, Austria play a goalless draw

Paris, June 19 (IANS): Portugal and Austria played a goalless draw in a Group F clash of Euro 2016 at Parc des Princes in Paris on Saturday.

The captain and star of the team Cristiano Ronaldo missed a late penalty on his record-breaking 128th Portugal appearance.

Portugal dominated large swathes of the first competitive meeting between the sides since 1995 but were almost caught out several times, in particular when Stefan Ilsanker forced a good save with a crisp low strike shortly after the restart.

The draw leaves Group F finely poised, with Hungary leading on four points, followed by Portugal and Iceland with two points each, with Austria one further behind.
