Udupi, Jul 12: MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary addressing the reporters at his office here on Saturday July 9 said, "Deputy Superintendent of Police M K Ganapati suicide case definitely affects the state government. Threat calls, imposing stress on police officers creates scare in the police department."

"The DySP reportedly named former home minister K J George and two other senior police officials, but in the FIR there was no mention of any politician's name. These developments show that the department is trying to twist the case."

"Calling to mind the Karnataka assembly elections held on May 14, 2013, circle inspector Mohan was suspended for a trivial reason for one and a half years. His was a true example of how a politician puts pressure on police officers," explained the MLC.

"The legal system of Karnataka is completely decayed. Lawbreakers are everywhere."

From the recent happenings Poojary said that police should be ready to personally offer their service to politicians before doing their job and adjust themselves to any task. The police department has understood it in a better way.

He demanded that the state government hand over the case for a CBI probe. He also demanded the resignation of the guilty police officials and K J George immediately.

"This entire phenomenon indicates that if anybody wants to be DySP, he should work in favour of the government or else he should be ready to die anytime," stated Poojary.

District-in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj should look into the matter and examine the loopholes of RTE.
