Udupi, Jul 12: Members of the district Bharatiya Janata Party, staged a protest demanding justice for DySP M K Ganapati suicide case, in front of Clock Tower, here on Saturday July 9.

District party president Mattar Ratnakar Hegde condemning the case of DySP M K Ganapati said, "Since three years the government has failed to maintain a legal system in the state and this has been the cause of the suicides of IPS and IAS officers."

"In the DySP case, he clearly mentioned the name of his accusers namely Bengaluru Urban Development Minister K J George and senior police officers Prasad and Pranab Mahanti. The facts are out in the open."

He explained, "They took the case as an unnatural death but no names have been mentioned in the FIR. The government is trying to hide all the major points mentioned in the death note. If they had mentioned the senior officials' names then he might have received peace for his soul."

"Police personnel must protect society, but they themselves do not have security nor freedom."

Hegde alleged that the government is putting all its efforts into closing down the case as it has done in the previous cases. Congress is answerable to all hidden facts and is weakening the case.

Former MLA Raghupati Bhat, Dinkar Babu, Sheela K Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, Uday Kumar Shetty, Suprasad Shetty and others were present.
