Mandya, Jul 15: A recently married girl chose to end her life by hanging during her visit to her parental home at Housing Board Colony here on Thursday July 14.
Likhita (24), had been given in marriage to Shashank, residing in Vidyaranyapuram, Bengaluru, about three months back. She had come to her parental home on account of Ashada month as per custom.
On Thursday, Likhita had not come out of her room since morning. Family members who grew apprehensive and checked, found that she had hanged herself inside the room.
Likhita had secured engineering degree, and her husband, Shahank, works as software engineer at Bengaluru. Likhita's parents said they are in the dark about the reasons which drove their daughter to commit suicide.
Policemen visited the spot and conducted inspection. Till Thursday evening, no case was registered.
