Bantwal: Electric short circuit in school burns down valuables

Bantwal, Jul 16: Electric short circuit in the CCTV camera unit of Vittal Jaycees English Medium School in the taluk inflicted heavy loss.

It is said that fire got ignited in the power supply to the computer on Thursday July 14 night accidentally. The unit is located in principal's chamber. As fire spread slowly during late night, monitor, table, fibre items, door, and several mementos were burnt down.

The entire chamber was covered by thick smoke . Some other items like computer and electronic equipments did not suffer damage. Loss in this incident has been estimated at Rs 60,000.
