Mangaluru, Jul 24: The students of Crossland College, Brahmavar had a surprise this year in the elections to the Students’ council executive held on Saturday July 23.
The students have been voting electronically for the last eight years. This year the electronic ballot paper showed the photos of the candidates along with their name.
“It is real fun and a real experience to cast your vote like this,” a first year student expressed. “This is a prelude to the general elections where we have to vote. A great experience,” a fresher to the college observed.
The software for elections is developed and updated by Jyothi, lecturer in Business Management of the college.
“With a click, the results are known and the whole process of election gets over very fast,” said Jyothi.
The college has been using the software developed by Jyothi for the evaluation of staff and faculty by the students.
