South Korean cyclist involved in accident

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 3 (IANS): South Korean Olympic cyclist Kim Ok-cheol has suffered scratches and grazes after being knocked off his bike while training ahead of the Rio Games

Police said the 21-year-old was struck by the rearview mirror of a car during a practice session at the Tijuca national park on Tuesday, reports Xinhua.

"It was a minor incident with light scratches," police spokesman Jose Macedo was quoted as saying by the Uol news portal on Tuesday.

South Korean officials said Kim, a team pursuit bronze medallist at this year's Asian championship, would be fit to compete in the Olympics road race starting Saturday.
