Gurgaon, Dec 11: In a shocking incident, a 14-year-old boy, studying in 8th class, was on Tuesday shot dead by two of his classmates inside a school in Gurgaon.

Police said two students, sons of property dealers, are believed to have fired five bullets from a licensed pistol at Abhishek Tyagi following a quarrel in the corridor at the end of the classes in the Euro International School.

Tyagi, who received four shots in all, including one in the temple and two on his chest from a close range, died on the way to hospital. No one else was injured in the shooting in the school in this prosperous satellite town outside Delhi.

The two boys, who are believed to have shot Tyagi dead, are detained by police.

Manoj Tyagi, a friend of Rajinder Tyagi, whose son was killed, told police that Abhishek had some quarrel with some of his colleagues a few days ago but the dispute between them had been resolved.

Police said they would investigate how the pistol was brought to school and also question the parent who owns the license.

It seems , bullying by the victim was the reason for the boys to shoot him down.Bullying by school children also should be taken serioulsy like ragging in colleges.

Children should be asked report any cases of bullying to parents and teachers and put an end to it immedietly. It is not only the gun that kills.Any thing can be used to cause fatal injury.

This is a very shocking incident.Parents should be aware of what is happening with their children. The children did complain to the principal about this boy bullying them, then why did'nt he/she take action.

They could have verified with the other kids too about this child and informed the parents about his behaviour and warned him.A life could have been saved.

It is sheer negligence of the school authorities and the parents of the children. Two lives are spoilt and one child lost his life due to this negligence. The school authorities should not be spared.

This is too shocking. No excuses what so ever is accepted. Human life is definitely not so cheap to kill each other wherever /however you want. The guilty should be punished along with the parents.

Call it Globalization or whatever, this is a dangerous precedent. The motivation to take such extreme steps clearly is emanating from the events in the schools in US. However, the situation in India is not as bad as in US. We must address this issue right now and nip the menace in its infancy.

Parents must be held responsible and imprisoned if their licensed guns are used to kill school kids no matter even by their kids. Secondly, possession of licensed guns must come at a huge price tag so that only those really in need of them can be in possession and not any vegetables and herbs.
