Kasargod: Ambulance - auto collision, auto driver killed

Kasargod, Sep 14: In an accident which occurred at Nullippady in the town on the night of Monday September 12, the driver of the auto rickshaw lost his life.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Nasser (48), a resident of Deli here. Nasser was critically injured in the accident. Although he was taken to a hospital at Mangaluru, he did not properly respond to treatments there and passed away shortly after his admission.

Nasser had visited his daughter, who is recuperating in a private hospital at Nullippady here. When he was reversing his two-wheeler, an ambulance that was moving at considerable speed, hit his vehicle. The ambulance, it is learnt, was taking an injured person pertaining to motor bike accident at Chalingal in the district to Mangaluru when it met with this accident.

The injured persons were shifted to another ambulance and taken to Mangaluru. A case about the current accident was registered by traffic police here.
