Mangaluru: People from city reveal Rs 250 crore undeclared income

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Oct 3: As per information, people from the city have made use of Income Declaration Scheme 2016 and come out with Rs 250 crore income that was undisclosed in their returns. Under this scheme, immunity from legal action was granted to people who declare their hitherto undisclosed income and pay a flat rate of 45 percent of such income as tax.

In the country as a whole, as per rough estimate, the income freshly declared by people under the above scheme is around Rs 65,000 crore.

It is gathered that majority of those who opted to disclose their income in this manner and paid penal tax as applicable from city, comprised of entrepreneurs, medical professionals, other professionals, and businessmen.

September 30 happened to be the last day for declaring undisclosed income under the said scheme.

Yes, Rs.250 crores black money in Mangalore Zone is peanuts. How much money came through back doors like India Development Scheme where the sources of income was not required to disclose? Why do we think the real estate value quadrupled in the past 10 years. From where people got money to build magnificent Malls and luxurious apartment buildings all of a sudden.

Most of the black money has been bleached in the past 10 years. Now it may be interest they are declaring.

It is like "Oorella Kolle Hodedha Mele Koteya Baghilu Haakidharu"

How clever are people who offer dreams about money which can never be theirs ?? Rather the dreams that will never turn true ?

Obviously nobody waits to buy land or marry off his daughter with the money but to remind the promised, doesn't cost anything.

Before May 2014, Baba Ramdev said, in 4 Swiss Banks and 8 Italian banks, 500 lakh crores (around 8 Trillion dollars) black money of Indians was there. Modi also vouched it.

After May 2014, Modi says he does not know the figure.

Public: Baba Ramdev, kya huwa 500 lakh crore ka kaala dhan ?
Ramdev: Aap kapalbaarti karte ho ?
    Public: Nai, kyon ?
Ramdev: Shuru karo, baad me aisa falthu baat mann me nahi ayegi !

    Shankar,

I never mentioned Modi anywhere in my comment. However, now that you have brought him in, listen to this too : promise was to distribute the capital (brought in), not the derived percentage.

Nevertheless, I am better off without the incentives but there are millions of poor, waiting for the promise to be fulfilled.

All this 250 crores has come from petty businessman who don't give bills. Its already reported that to show this scheme as a great success, IT department in each city was given a target and hence they have targeted petty sellers and forced them to disclose all their income under this scheme!!!!. If Jaitley has guts, let him direct the IT to raid a single real estate agent or politicians and you may find 250 crore as their personal income!. How else one can explain the building of so many complexes but very little sales!?. Almost all new flats are unsold but still these real estate people continue to build!!!. From where the money is coming!?. Is our IT department so dumb!?
