Konkani Sambram 4 enthrals UK audience with music, drama and cultural excellence

London, Nov 19: Konkani lovers in the UK were treated to a spectacular cultural celebration as SKA London presented Konkani Sambram 4 at the Harrow Arts Centre on October 26, 2025. The musical extravaganza Wilson Olivera Nite captivated audiences with its soulful melodies, while the gripping drama Chafra’s Hando Utla impressed theatre enthusiasts and left a lasting impact on Konkani drama lovers.

Konkani Sambram 4 raised its curtains in the afternoon, with Joseph Sequeira beautifully conducting the stage programme. Sunil D’Cunha of SKA and chief guest Joseph Mathias addressed the gathering and thanked the Konkani audience for their great support. Dony Correa kicked off the musical programme with tremendous energy and seamlessly led the event with his brilliant shayaris, powerful voice, and distinctive compering style, leaving the audience spellbound. He was equally complemented by his talented wife Asha Correa and the accomplished local emcee Joseph Sequeira, who ably handled various segments of the event.

Wilson Olivera, fondly celebrated as ‘Sangeet Sardar’ and ‘Konkan Manik’, mesmerised the audience with his soul-stirring lyrics and enchanting voice. His performance became a heartfelt celebration of the Konkani spirit.

A stellar line-up of vocal talents, including Mangaluru’s popular singers Ashwin D'Costa and Sonal Monteiro, graced the stage with their harmonious voices. Joseph Mathias, who travelled all the way from the UAE and is known for supporting cultural events across the globe, also enthralled the audience. Local talents Sheryl Cornelio, Lanisha, and Delisha Vaz impressed with their melodious singing. Live dance performances by the talented groups Art In Motion by Mendonca and Party Pallets Dance Crew lit the stage on fire. Rifters, the talented UK-based band, delivered an exceptionally polished and highly professional performance.

The second session of Konkani Sambram 4 featured the classic masterpiece Hando Utla, one of Chafra’s most acclaimed dramas. The troupe of amateur artistes from Dubai, under the leadership of Dony Correa, mesmerised the audience with their powerful and brilliant acting skills. Renowned actors including Godwin Castelino, Rohan Kalakul, Cynthia Mendonca, and Asha Correa delivered outstanding performances, their dialogue delivery marked by ease and flawless precision. The drama was directed by Dony Correa, with music designed by Rohan Kalakul. Deona Correa and Delisha Correa assisted with music and light design, while Ashok Almeida provided backstage support. The drama carved a niche in the hearts of everyone present at the Harrow Arts Centre. Continuous applause and roars of laughter proved its immense success among the crowd. Dony Correa and his team were warmly applauded and appreciated.

Konkani Sambram 4, under the leadership of SKA and its president Sunil D’Cunha, succeeded in providing complete entertainment to the audience.

At the end of the event, Wilson Olivera and Dony Correa were felicitated by Sunil D'Cunha and chief guest Joseph Mathias for their tremendous efforts in presenting Konkani Sambram 4. A delicious Mangalorean traditional dinner was served to all attendees to conclude the evening.
