Udupi, Dec 5: "JDS will include implementation of Sachar Committee report in its election manifesto pertaining to next election. If our party rises to power, this report will be adopted and implemented in its entirety," announced former Prime Minister of India and JDS national president, H D Deve Gowda. He was speaking after taking part in the mass marriage programme held as part of 20th annual convention of Dakshina Kannada Sunni Centre at Muloor on Sunday December 4.
"I am well aware about the condition of Muslim community, which lays stress on living with life respect in spite of poverty. Sachar report contains these facts," Gowda added.
"There was a time when parents had to force their children to become bonded labourers in order to pool enough money to marry off their daughters. Mass marriage programmes appease the gods and the general public should extend lfull support for such initiatives," he felt.
Kaup MLA and former minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, hailed Sunni Centre as an ideal for other organizations because of its contribution to educational and socially relevant issues. He said he will honestly try to see that this organization gets maximum grant from the state government.
District Qazi and principal of Al Ihsan Shariat College, Alhaj P M Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal led the Nikah programme. 22 couples entered wedded life at the programme.
Maulana Muhammed Fazil Razvi Kavalkatte, Assayyed Ali Bafaki Tangal, Alikunhikoya Tangal, SSF state president, Shafi Saadi Nandavar, B MFarooq, entrepreneur, Aslam Kazi, Qazi of Krishnapur Jamaat, E K Ibrahim Musliyar, SYS state president, Hussain Saadi K C Road, KCF international council president, S P Hamza Sakafi, and various other leaders were present.
