Beltangady: Theft attempt at Ujire - two from Madhugiri held

Beltangady, Dec 13: Two persons, who had gained entry into a jewellery shop at Ujire in the taluk sometime back, were arrested by the local police on Monday December 12.

The thieves, identified as Kolimanja alias Manjunath (49) and Mahantesh (21), both from Mekebande House in Raji Gandhi Extension in Madhugiri, Tumakuru district, reportedly had entered Damas Gold jewellery shop in Ujire town. They had broken open the shutter door of the shop.

After arresting the accused, they were produced before the magistrate along with the equipment they had used for breaking the shutter. They have been remanded to judicial custody.

Police sub-inspector, Ravi B S, Satish BN of finger print unit at Mangaluru and other personnel had worked to identify the accused and arrest them.
