Bengaluru, Dec 26: Kanara Entrepreneurs Global (KE) successfully completed the second certificate course at Christ University (CU). The first certificate course was on “Family Business" and the present course was on “Entrepreneurship”. It was a 30 hours course with faculty from Kanara Entrepreneurs Global and Christ University.
The valedictory function was conducted at the university campus, in the presence of the members of Kanara Entrepreneurs Global and the management, faculty and students of the university. Fr Dr Abraham, pro-vice chancellor of Christ University, Bengaluru, Peter Anil Rego - president of Kanara Entrepreneurs Bengaluru, Dr Jyothi Kumar - associate dean of the college, Ivy Saldanha - director mentoring of KE Bengaluru, and Prof Sridharan of the university were the guests of honour.
Dr Jyothi Kumar welcomed the gathering by stating that this was a homecoming for the members of KE as this was the second edition of the course at the university. She expressed that their students had a tremendous opportunity combined with learning through experience, sharing and also by empowering them. “A meticulously planned course by KE Global”, she said.
Fr Dr Abraham during his address, mentioned that out of182 students who applied of this course, 60 students were selected. While going through the records, he was amazed to note that there was 90% attendance for the course, which itself proved the success of this course. He made a special mention of the passion and spirit of KE team while conducting this programme.
Peter Anil Rego spoke about values, self-discipline and willpower to become an excellent being and a successful Entrepreneur. “Entrepreneurs are leaders who accept responsibilities, upgrade knowledge and skill. They are team leaders who treat others with kindness and consideration. Your position in life is equal to your performance”, he said.
Ivy Saldanha, coordinator of this course, recalled the pleasant experience while planning this course with the faculty of Christ University. She congratulated the students who were well prepared for the course. She said, “Knowledge transfer from KE was through hands on experience of its members. And innovation distinguishes a leader and follower”.
Anish Jhinjunwala from among the students spoke about the Entrepreneur Club (ECIL) which conducts industry visits, panel discussion, biz plans and interactive session with industry experts. ECIL provides students with resources and aims to build incubation centre for students, he said. Sanjit Jain, another student, spoke about his experience of the programme. He mentioned that Kanara Entrepreneurs covered many relevant topics that enriched students who learnt about business from seasoned entrepreneurs.
Fr Dr Abraham gave away the 'Certificates of Participation' to the President of Kanara Entrepreneurs Global along with Mementos to all the faculty members of KE. Peter Anil Rego and Ivy Saldanha distributed the Completion Certificates to successful students.
Prof Sridharan thanked the faculty members for their selfless participation, without receiving any monetary compensation and only doing it for the benefit of entrepreneurial promotion.
Among the student fraternity, Adrian D’Souza, president-elect, Mark D’Souza, past president, board of directors, lead members and members of KE Bangalore were present at the occasion.
