Karnataka Legislature Session from Feb 6

Bengaluru, Jan 10: Karnataka’s legislature session will be held from February 6 to 10.

The State Cabinet, which met in Bengaluru on Tuesday, decided to request the State Giovernor Vajubhai Rudabai Vala to convene the joint session of the State Legislature on February 6.

The Governor will be addressing the joint session of both houses of the State Legislature as it will be the first session of the State Legislature in the year.

The general issues apart from discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address would be discussed during the session. 

Other Cabinet Decisions:

 Road agencies directed to allocate one per cent of the project cost of roads for plantation of saplings
 Proposal approved for construction of 820 meters long tidal break-wall at Karwar port (Rs 125 crore)
 A toll road to be built at a cost of Rs148 crore between Devanahalli and Kolar
 550 veterinary doctors vacancies filled through direct recruitment
 Approval of Rs 58 crore for construction of Govt Engineering College, Naragund, Gadag
 Grant of Rs 75 crore towards equity capital for Karnataka State Financial Corporation for 2016-17
 Upgradation of Shivamogga district prison as central prison by creation of 134 posts and purchasing 18 vehicles
