Mangalore: ‘Kudalumerkala Gramotsav' on Feb 8

Mangalore, Feb 7: ‘Kudalumerkala Gramotsav – '08’ will be held at Kudalumerkala Kutumgeradka by Subbayyakatte Kannada Sangh, in association with Kudalumerkala Gramotsav Samiti on Friday February 8, informed MG Melanta, convener while addressing media persons here on Wednesday, February 6.

The Gramotsav will be inaugurated by former union minister MP Veerendra Kumar. The programme will be presided over by Prof B K Chandrashekar, speaker of Kerala legislative council, he added.

B A Moideen Bava, G A Bava, Prakash Bhandary, S Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, I Rama Rai, Sarvothama Shetty, S Jagannath Shetty, T M Shaheed, Venkat Raja Punichittaya will be presented with ‘Gramotsav’ award by Ummen Chandy, former Kerala chief minister, in recognition of their contributions to the society.

The book ‘Puratana Tulunadina Janagala Hinnele Mattu Sambandagalu’ penned by Keshava Shetty Adoor will be released by K V Tagore, commissioner of information and broadcasting department. The souvenir will be released by Unnikrishnan Namboodiri, Malayalam movie actor and producer.

Former MLA Abhayachandra Jain and Malady Ajit Kumar Rai, president of Bunts Global Association will be the chief guests, he added.
