Mangalore: Road Widening: KUIDFC Bans Vehicle Movement

Mangalore, Mar 16: As the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) is taking up the road widening from the present two-lane to four-lane, from the Collector’s Gate to the Mangalore Nursing Home from Monday, the district administration has banned the movement of vehicles between these two points. 

According to a press release from deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao, the ban will be in force till the completion of work. 

The diversion is as follows: All private and KSRTC buses arriving from Kasargod, Puttur and BC Road and proceeding towards SBI Bus Stand area via Balmatta Circle and Jyothi Circle should move on Old Kankanady Road and proceed via Falnir Road. Route number 5 buses too should proceed via Falnir Road from Kankanady Circle. 

Buses plying from Service Bus Stand towards Karavali Circle via Jyothi Circle and Balmatta circle, should proceed towards Horticulture Junction, turn right and join Karavali Circle and proceed further. Buses from Udupi and Karkala and plying towards service bus stand should proceed via Nanthoor, Mallikatte and Bunts Hostel Circle. 

KSRTC buses coming from Pumpwell Circle should proceed via Bendore Well, Mallikatte and Bunts Hostel Circle towards their destination. 

The DC has also banned parking of all types of vehicles on either side of the road between Horticulture Junction to Balmatta Circle, Kankanady Circle to Pumpwell Circle along Old Kankanady Road and Horticulture Junction to St Agnes College Circle.
