M'lore: ‘Bisu Parba’ Calls for Respect to Nature- Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar

Mangalore, Apr 14: Nature has distributed its fruits equally to all without discrimination in the name of religion. The basic concept of nature calls for building of human relations in the society, said well-known Tulu scholar and lecturer Dr Ganesh Amin Sankamar.

Speaking at ‘Bisu Parba,’ organized by Tulu Koota Kudla at Ravindra Kala Bhavan on Monday, April 14, he said that though nature has never discriminated among the people, man has created barriers in the name of religion. Instead of showing gratitude to nature, he is cultivating plastic culture which is harmful to the environment, he said.

Nowadays one can not cook in his house owing to the non-availability of materials when a small strike or riot takes place in the city. But people of the past were self-reliant in everything, as they were dependent on nature. ‘Bisu Parba,’ which is celebrated to mark the beginning of New Year in Tulu calendar calls everyone again to respect the nature, he informed.

Meanwhile, meritorious Tulu students were felicitated by Tulu Koota. Shakila Kava, deputy mayor of Mangalore City Corporation, inaugurated the programme. Harikrishna Punaroor, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Dr Vasantkumar Perla of Mangalore Akashvani and Chandrashekhar Shetty, working president of Tulu Koota were present on the occasion.

Ratnavati Baikady led the prayer. Damodar Nisarga, president of Tulu Koota, welcomed the gathering. V G Pal compered the programme.
