Mumbai: Rama P Mabiyan, father of author Ravi R Anchan passes away

Mumbai, Jul 7: Rama P Mabiyan (93), founder member and former president of Shani Mahatma Pooja Samithi Irani Chawl, founder member and former honorary secretary of Western India Shanishwara Pooja Samithi and former working committee member of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha, passed away at his residence at Pragathi Nagar A-15, sixth Thilak road, Goregaon west on Wednesday, July 5 due to old age.

He hailed from Madanthota, Kaup Padooru, Udupi district. He was a student of Bombay Fort night school. He had joined prestigious Rallys India Limited and retired after long service.

He has left behind wife Leela Rama, three sons including well known author Ravi R Anchan, a daughter and large number of friends and relatives. Office bearers and members of several groups and associations expressed their condolences on his demise. His last rites were performed at Oshivara crematorium, Andheri West on Wednesday night, July 5.

He was a sincere social worker and had indulged himself in several associations in Mumbai. Established businessman of Billavas, K Bhojaraj said that the community had lost a hard working social worker. G Acharya, former president of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha and Mundkooru Surendra Salian also expressed their condolences on the demise of Rama P Mabiyan.
