Bangalore: State Police to Drive Hyundai Accent

  • First batch of DGS&D approved Accents handed over

Bangalore, April 30: Hyundai Motor India, the largest passenger car exporter and the second largest car manufacturer in India, today handed over its first batch of the Hyundai Accent cars, to the Karnataka Police at a ceremony organized at Advaith Hyundai dealership in Bangalore. 

The Directorate General of Supplies & Disposals (DGS&D) in the Department of Supplies under the Ministry of Commerce, the central purchase and quality assurance organization of the Union Government, has approved the Accent for use by all government departments across the country. 

Karnataka Police had so far placed total orders of 30 Accent cars. Today marks the beginning of the handing over process with 10 cars being delivered to the Karnataka Police. Present on the occasion were Y S Kim, senior general manager (South), Hyundai Motor India and K R Srinivasan, Director General & Inspector General of Police, Karnataka state.

The Hyundai Accent  - a mid-size sedan is a proven and reliable car with comfortable and spacious interiors, convenient and practical features like split-folding rear seat and an effective air-conditioning system and has been one of the largest selling cars in this segment since its launch in the Indian market in 1999.
