Mangaluru: Konkani Natak Sabha holds elocution competition

Mangaluru, Aug 7: Konkani Natak Sabha® organised its 50th elocution competition in Don Bosco Hall here on Sunday, August 6.

The competition was held for four age brackets - 5 to 10 years, 10 to 15 years, 15 to 30 years and above 30 years.

The competition was inaugurated by Konkani Writer CGS Taccode by the lighting of the lamp, along with office bearers.


    






















































26 competitors from 16 Parishes took part in the 5 to 10 year category. In the ladies category, Senorita D’Souza from Bondel parish and Gleyona Mendonca from Ashoknagar parish bagged first place, Alrisha Treeza Rodrigues from Gurpur parish stood second and Chrisel Treeza D’Souza from Milagres parish and Linita D’Sa from Bondel parish shared third place. In the gents' category Viyon Freston Lobo from Bantwal parish bagged first place, Nihal Joswa Rodrigues from Permude parish stood second and Rishon Sweed Noronha from Bajpe parish third place.

In the 10 to 15 year category, 21 competitors from 14 Parishes took part. In ladies category Vencita Dias from Angelore parish bagged first place, Sujaya Nathsia D’Souza from Permannur parish stood second place and and Simon D’Souza from Bejai parish and Glenna Mayola from Permannur parish shared third place. In gents category Rawl Samuel Noronha from Bajpe parish bagged first place, Lenn Shawn Sequiera from Derebail parish stood second place and Roy Prince Veigas from Permannur parish third place.

In the 15 to 30 years, 14 competitors from 7 Parishes took part. In the ladies category Renisha Ferrao from Permannur parish and Frivita D’Souza from Gurpur parish bagged first place, Jeswita Dias from Angelore parish stood 2nd place and Brayana Mayola Tauro from Puttur parish third place. In gents Category Angelo Sucheth Noronha from Cordel parish bagged first place, Jason Pinto from Vittla parish stood second place and Loyston Fernandes from Milagres parish third place.

In the above 30 years, 11 competitors from 18 parishes took part. In ladies category Cleeta Tressy Tauro from Bajpe parish bagged first place, Irene Mendonca from Cascia and Edna Noronha from Cordel parish stood second place and Lavina B.D’Souza from Bejai parish third place. In gents category Roshan Crasta from Paldane parish bagged first place, Jacob D’Souza from Bantwal parish stood second place and Charles Fernandes of Paldane parish third place.

Elizabeth Roche, Roopa Pinto and Jenifer Fernandes were the judges for the competitions.

Vice president Sunil Menezes welcomed the gathering and proposed the vote of thanks. Raymond D’Cunha compered the programme. General secretary Judi D’Souza introduced the judges. Convenor Treza Pinto announced the results. Praveen Rodrigues, Keith Furtado, Jerry Pinto, and Albert Rodrigues were present among others.
