Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Sep 4: A motor bike belonging to assistant police sub-inspector, Gopalakrishna, was stolen between 4.30 pm and 7.30 pm on August 31. The two-wheeler had been parked near the city bus stand here when it was taken away. Gopalakrishna is attached to coastal security force police station at Malpe.

The motor bike in question had been bought by Gopalalakrishna from a neighbour named Virupaksha a few days back at a cost of Rs 30,000. He had parked his motor bike near R K Tailor shop near the city bus stand at 4.30 pm on August 31 before leaving for Udyavar on duty. When he returned at 7.30 pm the same day, he found that his vehicle had gone missing.

Although thorough search was launched thereafter, the motor bike could not be found. It is learnt that Gopalakrishna had submitted documents to regional transport office seeking to transfer the bike registration in his name and the same is under process.

A case of theft stands filed in the town police station here.
