Udupi: ACCEA celebrates 'Engineers Day'

Udupi, Sep 17: Association of Consulting Civil Engineers and Architects (ACCEA), here celebrated Engineers Day on September 15. Deputy commissioner of the district, Priyanka Mary Francis and Anil Hegde, structural engineer Mangaluru were the chief guests at the function.



Speaking on the occasion Priyanka Mary Francis said, "Anyone with basic knowledge can be an engineer. One need not have an engineering degree. ACCEA has supported the district administration in town planning and we expect their support in future as well. Every professional must create their own forums like ACCEA and provide valuable suggestions to the government.”

Anil Hegde said, “Engineers of today must also take care of the environment. Their decisions must not affect the environment. Engineers must also maintain a good relationship among themselves."

Diwakar Rao, civil engineer and Shankar Suvarna, proprietor Shankar Fabs were felicitated for their valuable service. Two hard up engineering students were also awarded with scholarships.

Nagesh Hegde, president ACCEA presided over the event. Gopal Bhat, secretary welcomed and introduced the guest. Harish Kumar and Amit Aravind compered the programme.
