Kundapur: Mentally depressed man commits suicide

Kundapur, Sep 18: A mentally depressed youth, on Monday, September 18, hung himself to death within Kollur police station limits.

Kishan Shetty (28) had recently returned home after rehablitation, but suffered from severe mental depression. He committed suicide at home, when he was alone.

Kishan who was an alcoholic was sent by his parents to a rehabilitation center in Bengaluru, to help him give up the addiction. He was the son of Jayaram Shetty a security guard at Kollur temple. Jayaram worked as an ASI and made a good name for himself before he retired. He had joined as a security guard in Kollur temple after retiring and stayed in a rented house in Kollur.

Kishan worked as an auto driver. There were police cases registered against him in several police stations in the district due to disruptive behavior under the influence of alcohol.

Jayaram had warned his son several times before sending him to the rehabilitation center in Bengaluru.

A complaint has been registered at Kollur police station.
