Mangaluru: Charandas Mallya to be felicitated at Kalaangann's monthly theatre

Mangaluru, Sep 26: Sumell – Mandd Sobhann’s Singing Club, will organise International Music Day Celebrations on Sunday, October 1, at Kalaangann's 190th Monthly Theatre.

As per traditions, Sumell will honour accomplished music maestro Charandas Mallya who introduced the ‘nite’ form of musical programmes in Mangaluru with the Ashok-Charan Nite.

On the occasion, choral singing will be presented by ‘Sumell’ and ‘Blue Angels’. Instrumental music by young artistes will be presented by Reuben Machado  on the flute, harmonica and guitar, Kenny Pereira on the saxophone, Samarth Shenoy's flute-fusion and Oshin Theodore on the harmonica and guitar.

About Charandas Mallya

Charandas has provided music to a number of Tulu, Konkani and Kannada plays. He also has the distinction of having composed music for Kannada, Tulu and Konkani films. He has also arranged music for numerous Konkani albums and has been chosen for ‘Sangeet Sanman’ this year. He will also be bestowed with the title of ‘Sangeet Mahan’.
