KPCC president Dr G Parameshwara to inaugurate Mangaluru Dasara on Sep 28

Mangaluru, Sep 28: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, Dr G Parameshwara, will inaugurate Mangaluru Dasara at 5 pm on Thursday September 28 at Kudroli temple.

Religious and cultural programmes connected the Dasara festival are on since September 21. Grand Dasara immersion procession will be taken out on September 30.

The inaugural will be attended among others,  by the president of temple development committee, Jaya Suvarna, members of the managing committee, and a number of dignitaries.

Because of huge rush, movement of heavy vehicles on Kudroli temple road  has been restricted. The temple management said that on Wednesday, about two lac devotees visited the temple and community feast was served to about 1,25,000. Various puja and other rituals are being held periodically.

Assistant commissioner of police, Udaya Naik, said that in view of large number of people getting together for the immersion procession on Saturday, all precautions have been taken to maintain law and order situation. Over 60 tableaux will be part of the procession. The procession, which will begin after 4 pm on Saturday will move through Kambla Road, Mannagudda, Ladyhill, Lallbagh, Ballal bagh, PVS Circle, Navabharath Circle, K S Rao Road, Hampankatta, University College Circle, GHS Road, Car Street, Chitra Talkies and Alake before the idols are immersed in Kudroli temple pond.
