M'lore: Palemar Visits Infosys Advanced Pediatric Care Hospital

Mangalore, Jun 12: District in-charge minister Krishna Palemar visited Infosys advanced paediatric care hospital, a part of Wenlock district hospital on Wednesday June 11.

He gathered information on the facilities that are available and those that are additionally required at the hospital. He also visited the wards, operation theater and intensive care units at the hospital complex.

District surgeon Dr J Prabhudev, paediatrician Dr B S Baliga and Lady Goschen Hospital superintendent Dr G Y Kamath were present on the occasion and provided necessary information.

Speaking to media persons, Palemar said that priority will be given to complete the ongoing works in the district besides health related works.

A large number of poor people from rural areas come to the city seeking medical treatment. All the assistance will be extended to the district hospital in order to ensure quality treatment to the poor, he assured.

MLA Yogish Bhat, who was present on the occasion, said that chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will be inaugurating the building in the near future. However, the medical facility has already begun functioning and 26 children have been admitted as in-patients, he said.

Infosys has already contributed Rs 6 crore for this building and government has contributed Rs 3 crore as its share. The state will sanction an addition of Rs 2 crore as maintenance fund and outsourcing will be done to fulfill the need of nurses, he informed.

    Much credit for the same goes to Yogesh Bhat. In his tenure of last 16 years he has turned the Government hospital to give the provate hospital look. Poor and needy people will get the help at large. recently one of my friend from poor finace back ground got admitted for 30 days and had full praise for the hosptial. for this 30 day treatment he has been charged little more than 3000 rupees which other wise would have costed him not less than 1.5 lacs.
