Congress Loses Third Wicket - Star MLA Jaggesh Joins BJP

PTI

Bangalore, Jul 10: Popular Kannada actor and MLA Jaggesh on Thursday joined BJP after resigning his assembly membership, the third from the Congress to defect to the ruling party.

Jaggesh had contested the assembly elections for the first time and had won from the Turuvekere seat.

Last week, Asnotikar Anand Vasant and J Narasimha Swamy had switched loyalties after resigning from the assembly.

In a brief ceremony held at Raj Bhavan earlier today, Asnotikar was inducted into the BJP ministry along with Balachandra Jarakhiholi and Shivanagouda Naik, who joined the saffron party from JDS.

With this, five Opposition party legislators have joined the BJP. All the five had resigned their assembly membership to avoid attraction of provisions of anti-defection laws as JDS and Congress accused the saffron party of "poaching" the MLAS.

Jaggesh called on the State Assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar today and submitted resignation from the assembly which was immediately accepted.

Transport minister R Ashok and others welcomed Jaggesh into the party.

J Narasimha Swamy of Congress has been appointed Chairman of Slum Clearance Board.

If this is the situation, the people should boycott elections. A MLA/MP is the servant, he should serve the country, so he is choosen. Indian Politics is dirty politics, Democracy is not for people, its only for politicians.

Democracy is people's rights. All responsible people should vote the person they feel are not opportunists in coming bye election. Instead of whining, let Congress and JDS field stronger candidates for bye election, and give a befitting reply to defectors. You never know, if Cong and JDS combine win all 6 seats, BJP govt has to hide for cover and balance swings. Politricks is game of patience. Anybody denies??

On my personnel opinion with due respect i do not support the views of Avinash,Naveen or Nithin. Come on guys this is politics, no one is good nor bad here, all are opportunists. Right now is the turn of BJP now. They are just sitting in a 4 leg chair. Other parties will not leave to any opportunite to break one leg and put the Govt down. What will this end up with ? Another electioon or presidential rule . Is it what we want or one more unhealthy marriage or coalition Govt.

Atleast let BJP make its base strong to shut up and save karnataka from people like Gowda Family from lootings its resources. By money or portfolio, lets give BJP a chance to give a stable Govt in Karnataka for another 5 years and lets see if they keep up their promise. All are opportunists in Politics without exception of BJP Congress or JDS. Any party would have done same thing in this situation what BJP is doing and opposition will keep oposing it as usual. Just stay cool and watch the Naataka.

Shame Jagesh. you are a cheater and selfish man. You cheated all Turuvekare peoples. This is not good. This is very bad politics. Next people don't believe you. You need only money. You remember when you did not get MLA seat before, you were crying in public. But now you get money and for the sake of money you sell yourself to B.J.P.

I get Rs. 500/- liquor Saree to vote from all the parties when there is a election, I don't find any difference between the candidates I had to choose, both were known criminals and money swindlers. Each candidate promised good roads, health care, jobs, security..etc. etc. within 5years. Next year I see him again.

The voted candidate I find busy with 10-15 police escorts, then I see the goonda who killed the next house neighbour walking free every day to bar and resturant, while the neighbours family busy going to courts, police.

When I go to police station to lodge complaint of my stolen/lost property, they say "police is busy due to minister's/MLA's visit". I am an honest Indian, I attend every "Homa" for my country's welfare, I attend every rally to ensure my religion is safe from western countries. I see the person whom I voted last time in TV, his fly going around in BMW, I am pushed to the corner -when they attends puja in temple, roads tarred to his fly, friends house. All I can do is wait for another election to get Rs.750/- Liquor Saree.

Dear Gomez I believe you don’t pay your tax, that’s the reason you support this action. A true tax payer will never support this, as he is well aware of the fact that the expenses for election and by-elections come from tax payer’s money. Please pay your tax.

It is narrow mindedness to accuse a person who has resigned his seat and then shifted to another party. At least these persons have taken the risk of re-election unlike those who break parties. The constitution has given the right to join or leave any party to every individual. With the BJP govt getting stronger, perhaps they see no future for the cong in the state playing second fiddle to JDS after taking his support at Center.
