Mangaluru, Dec 28: After a scooter moving at considerable speed hit an old man who was crossing the road at Bikarnakatte here, he died on the spot. This tragic incident happened on Wednesday December 27.

The deceased was Sheikh Hussain Saheb (80), residing near Kumpala Cross, Kotekar. On Wednesday afternoon, Sheikh was crossing the road near Bikarnakatte over bridge when a scooter which approached the spot at high speed hit him.

A case about the accident was registered in the city (east) traffic police station.
