Bengaluru: First baby to be born on New Year in BBMP hospitals to get Rs 5 lac

Bengaluru, December 29: The first girl child to be born on January 1 in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) run hospitals will receive a cash incentive of Rs 5 lac.

However, the delivery procedure should be normal. The BBMP has announced that the cash will be deposited in joint account in which the baby and the BBMP commissioner will be the account holders. The interest of the money will be used to fund the girl’s education.

BBMP mayor, R Sampath Raj has confirmed the same at a BBMP Council meeting on Wednesday.
