Karkala: Mini tempo hits tree - teachers, students, sustain injuries

Karkala, Jan 4: After a tourist mini bus transporting students of a school to Dharmasthala via Sringeri hit a tree, 11 people including the school head teacher were injured.

The vehicle was transporting students of Government Higher Primary School, Doddabbigere in Chennagiri taluk, Davanagere district, on educational tour. On Wednesday January 3 evening, the vehicle developed mechanical problems near the district border after which it went out of the driver's control and hit a roadside tree.

Out of 24 persons in the bus including teachers, 10 students and head teacher, Eshwarappa, were injured. All of them were treated at the taluk government hospital here as outpatients. A case about this accident was registered at the rural police station here.

    Misery on our roads.I give the mistake to th edriver.Probably the van was not checked properly before taking the children to trip.Or if at all it was checked?checking costs money so childrens,human life doesnt cost ,We hear so oft nowadays accident everyday.too much tempo is also not good when children are inside.Noone cares these days.Men laugh over womens driving.but accidents maker are boys/children.Hope the children are better by this time.Arrest driver,make him show the service slip.
