Kasargod: Gopalakrishna Bombeyata Sangha's national puppetry festival held in Cochin

Kasargod, Jan 10: K V Ramesh puppetry lead team here has received an invitation to participate in the national puppetry festival being held by Kendra Sangeetha Nataka academy in Cochin from January 9 to 12. The festival is being held under the aegis of Kerala fine arts society.

Besides K V Ramesh, Dr Om Prakash K V, Srivatsala K V, Tirumalesh K V, Sudarshan K V, Geetha K, Anish P and Deeksha will display the puppetry show in the festival.



A documentary of the complete history of Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata Sangha, in Kasargod has received an international award. The award is announced in the spotlight documentary festival held in Los Angeles, America.

The documentary was prepared under the able leadership of young Kannada film director K Kiranraj. Thousands of documentaries in the world were shown in the documentary festival. The documentary of Yakshagana Bombeyata has received a silver medal.

Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Bombeyata has a history of four decades. It has become popular through its exhibitions and demonstrations and revives the age old art that is on the verge of extinction.
